This Privacy Policy describes how Relay Scan (“the App”, “we”, “our”) handles your information. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about our practices.

1. Information We Collect

We do not collect any information.

Relay Scan is designed to operate entirely on your device. The App does not collect, store, or transmit any personal information, usage data, analytics, diagnostics, or any other type of data. There are no user accounts, no registration, and no sign-in process.

2. Device Permissions

Relay Scan requires the following device permissions to function. These permissions are used solely for the app’s core functionality and no data from these sources is collected or transmitted:

Camera Access
Required to capture documents using your iPhone’s camera. Camera data is processed in real-time on your device for document detection and capture. No camera data is stored, transmitted, or shared. Camera access is only active while the app is in the foreground and actively scanning.

Photo Library Access
Required to save scanned documents to your Photos app. The App only writes images to your photo library when you explicitly tap “Save to Photos.” The App does not read, browse, or access existing photos in your library.

Motion & Sensors Access
Used to detect device stability for the auto-capture feature. Motion data is processed in real-time on your device to determine when you are holding the phone steady. This data is never stored or transmitted.

3. Data Processing

All data processing in Relay Scan occurs entirely on your device:

• Document detection: Uses Apple’s Vision framework (on-device ML) to detect document edges in the camera feed.
• Stability detection: Uses Core Motion to determine when the device is held steady.
• Image processing: Uses Core Image for perspective correction and image enhancement.
• Storage: Scanned documents are saved only to your device’s photo library when you choose to save them.

None of these processes involve any network communication. The App functions fully offline.

4. Third-Party Services

Relay Scan does not use any third-party services, SDKs, analytics tools, crash reporting services, advertising networks, or any other external services. The App contains no third-party code that collects or processes user data.

5. Data Sharing

We do not share any data with any third parties because we do not collect any data. There is nothing to share.

6. Data Retention

Since we do not collect any data, there is no data retention. Scanned documents that you save are stored in your device’s photo library under your control. You can delete them at any time through the Photos app. Uninstalling Relay Scan removes all app data from your device.

7. Children’s Privacy

Relay Scan does not collect personal information from anyone, including children under the age of 13 (or equivalent minimum age in the relevant jurisdiction). Since we collect no data, there is no risk of inadvertently collecting children’s information.

8. Your Rights

Under GDPR, CCPA, and other privacy regulations, you have rights regarding your personal data. Since Relay Scan does not collect, store, or process any personal data, these rights are inherently fulfilled:

• Right to access: No data is held about you.
• Right to deletion: No data exists to delete.
• Right to portability: No data is held to port.
• Right to object: No processing occurs.

9. Changes to This Policy

If we ever change this privacy policy, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. If future versions of Relay Scan introduce features that involve data collection or processing, we will update this policy before those features are released and notify users through an app update.
